Matt Halliday

Raced on one of the world’s great circuits and fast becoming one of the prize GT races of the year, the trio bring a wealth of speed and experience to the table and along with the proven Audi package their aim is to be standing on the podium come Sunday evening.

"I am really happy to have the offer from Peter Fitzgerald to tackle the 12 hour race on one of my favorite tracks in a car I know well. This event is fast becoming one of the big GT Endurance races of the year and we know we have a good package after our recent shake down test Philip Island.

I really love this track and after 10 visits in a V8 Supercar, it’s going to be great attacking it in an Audi R8 LMS Ultra which I drove in Europe during the 2013 season. It is also clear from testing that we have all we need to go for a solid result” explained Halliday from his California home this morning.

The race will see a strong field of 54 cars including classic manufacturers such as Audi, Ferrari, Mercedes, Lamborghini, Porsche, Nissan, Bentley and Aston Martin. Practice and qualifying will take place over Friday and Saturday with the race due to start at 5:50am Sunday morning (7:30am NZ time).

The race will be televised live on Australia’s Seven Network on 7Mate from 5:30am then switching to Channel 7 at 2:00pm (NSW time). Live streaming of the race will also be available on:

Matt would like to thank Keneric Group and Rydges Hotels Australia for their support at this event.
