Matt Halliday

During the Silverstone weekend a mixture of wet and dry conditions coupled with a fuel pressure problem hampered his qualifying while in the race, drivers found overtaking risky with the track very greasy off the racing line. However, the Californian based Kiwi scored a solid 12th place out of 26 starters but will be looking to make amends this weekend although weather could still play a part.

Halliday has never driven at Nürburgring but is aware track conditions there can change rapidly. However, he still relishes the opportunity to debut at another European venue and hopefully provide his German MRS team with a good result on what is their "home” race in the series.

"I am really looking forward to getting acquainted with the circuit which is one of the few on the Porsche Supercup calendar I have not raced on before. We experienced some bad timing with the weather in Silverstone so hopefully we can have a smooth weekend to get a strong result and some solid points for the MRS team at their home race” he said on his arrival in Germany today.

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race will again be a support event to the German Formula 1 Grand Prix with practice on Friday followed by qualifying Saturday morning and the 14 lap race on Sunday morning (approximately 9:45pm NZ time).
