Matt Halliday

New Zealand racing driver Matt Halliday has been confirmed as part of the driver line up for Jim Beam Racing in the Australian V8 Supercar endurance races at Philip Island and Bathurst to be held in September and October respectively. Halliday will team up with regular team driver James Moffat in the No. 18 Ford Falcon FG.

Team Co-owner, the legendary Dick Johnson, has expressed his approval of Halliday joining the defending V8 Supercar champions and feels Halliday will prove to be an asset to the team considering his vast international experience in a variety of categories. This year will also mark the Californian based Kiwi star’s seventh visit to Bathurst with his best placing to date being 4th place last year co-driving with Jason Bright:

"It will be great to be back again for the V8 Supercar Enduros and rejoining a Queensland based Ford team following a strong run last year with Brighty which resulted in a rewarding 4th place and first Kiwi driver at Bathurst.

"Joining the reigning V8 Supercar Champions and driving as part of Jim Beam Racing with a famous name gives me every reason to believe we can aim for some very strong results at both Philip Island and Bathurst.

"Bathurst remains one of the world's most historic motor racing events and with my continuing experience in endurance racing feel I can contribute to the team's enduro campaign and also to Moff's overall championship season" explained Halliday from his base in Los Angeles.

The L&H 500 is scheduled to be raced at Phillip Island (Victoria) on the 18th September with the high profile Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 being held at Mt Panorama (NSW) on the 9th October.
