Matt Halliday

The result was a pleasing one for the Kiwi as he endured a weekend of frustration to qualify in 9th place on the starting grid but a spirited drive saw him overhaul four cars to claim another good points haul and retain his 5th place overall in the Championship points.

Early problems during practice and qualifying looked set to hinder Halliday's progress and prevented him from setting more satisfactory lap times. However, excellent work by the Federsand–Jetstream Motorsport team engineers saw him line up on race day with a suitable set up allowing him to be competitive throughout the 14 lap race.

Halliday has also extended his lead in the Rookie standings while Federsand-Jetstream Motorsport lies in a close 2nd place in the Teams Championship:

"I got a great start and passed the four cars over the first few laps but unfortunately got a tap from behind which pushed me wide on lap four. Still, 5th is a good result after a tough qualifying and our good pace enabled us to complete a solid weekend” said Halliday after the race.

The next round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will take place in three weeks time at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany.
